It is very important to avoid even the appearance of exaggeration at a deposition.  If you exaggerate you will lose credibility.  That is why the task of avoiding exaggeration is a number 1 priority in my office.  Once you understand why you must not exaggerate, the you must practice not to do it.  Step 1 is--be prepared.  Think about exactly how you are injured so you have a clear picture of how you are injured, and think about the best words to accurately explain you injury.   You don’t want to give a generalized off the cuff response during your deposition.   If have chapter devoted to this topic in my book How to Put Your Best Foot Forward in Your Car and Truck Crash Case in Connecticut.  It is that important.
