Most people just don't understand that harasment on the job is not illegal.  I frequently tell people that work is not supposed to be fun.  That is why we call it work. That is why work means work.

The fact is that unless the "harassment" is due to a protected class or protected reason then it is simply not illegal.  There is no common decency rule in the workplace.

Therefore, if you believe you are being harassed on the job ask yourself this question:  Is the harassment due to your race, religion, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, or disability, or is it because you enforced your rigths under the Family and Medical Leave Act, or the Workers Compensation Act.  If not, then there is a good chance that the harassment is not illegal.

The focus should be on why is the harassment occuring, not the fact of harassment.
