Q
If the defendant offers to pay my medical bills, and I accept, can I still sue?

A

Once in a long while in a New London, Connecticut car crash case, a defendant or their insurance company will offer to pay your medical bills. They might suggest that there are no strings attached.  They might suggest that they will pay your medical bills now, and you can still bring a claim for your injuries later.  Don't be tempted. The reality is that while the defendant might agree to pay your medical bills, they will only do so with the signing of a general release of all claims.  This means you are fully settling the case.  If you settle now, for a payment of your medical bills, then you can never recover anything else in the future.

If you or anyone you know has been in a serious car crash in New London, Connecticut or one of the surrounding towns, and the defendant makes an offer that seems too good to be true it is.  We welcome you to contact the car crash lawyers at The Bartinik Law Firm, PC., 100 Fort Hill Road, Groton, CT. at 860-445-8521 or toll free at 888-717-4211.
