Some people, like traveling salespeople or taxi drivers, work in while driving. Therefore, if they are injured in a car crash they are entitled to file a Workers Compensation Claim.   This means that if you do not have health insurance your medical bills will be covered by your Workers Compensation insurance and if you miss work you can recover temporary total disability benefits.   At the end of the case you will have to reimburse the Workers Compensation carrier for the benefits they paid you.
