If it is your insurance company that wants to take photos of your car, then you are required to allow them to take pictures of your car damage.  If you don’t allow the pictures then you will have violated a provision in the policy that states that you will cooperate with their investigation.   You risk a claim that you failed to cooperate and they won’t cover your property damage.  Since you want them to cover your car damage, it makes sense to have them take pictures of your car.  You are not required to allow the at fault driver’s insurance company to take pictures of your car.  But for practical reasons, there is rarely a situation when you would not allow them the chance to look at the car and take photos.  So, it probably makes sense to allow them to take pictures of the car.
