I was in Court all day today picking a jury on a case coming to trial next week. When I questioned one particular juror she informed us that she had just settled her own claim. We asked her if that process gave her any impression about how the civil justice system worked. She explained that she felt cheated by her insurance company. She felt that she was taken advantage by the her insurance company because they promised to pay for her medical bills, but never did. She assumed that they would not lie to her. Wrong.

As it turned out her insurance company was the same one that represented the person who crashed into her. Therefore, while she was dealing with one single insurance company, the insurance company was taking on dual roles in the case. First, the role of liability carrier representing the at fault party. Second, as a first party insurer. She did not realize that her insurance company was not representing her interests.

If you, a family member, or a friend are involved in a major car accident on the highway, and have a problem with an insurance company when dealing with your serious car or truck accident in Connecticut then contact the car accident attorneys of The Bartinik Law Firm, PC, 100 Fort Hill Road, Groton, Connecticut at 860 445 8521 or toll free at 888 717 4211.
